Jason Barnes
Owner/Operator of Chick-Fil-A Haygood

Jason Barnes is the Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A of Haygood. He is from Hanover, VA and went to SUNY Broome to receive his Associate’s.  There he also played soccer, ice hockey , and lacrosse. Barnes attended Carson-Newman for his Bachelor’s and the University of Tennessee for his Master’s. Prior to running Chick-Fil-A, from 2002-11 Barnes worked as a teacher, soccer coach and Assistant Principal. He is currently married to his wife of 8 years, Breane Barnes, and has two children. Barnes is an avid cross fitter and plays soccer twice a week. Barnes will be speaking on the value of "Identity Capital" Tuesday @ 4:30pm in Pearce Hospitality Suite.

ANNA GIBSON HOLLOWAY is the Maritime Historian for the Maritime Heritage Program of the National Park Service in Washington, DC., where she acts as an advocate for and provides expertise relating to NPS maritime history. She also conducts primary source research on topics related to American Maritime History for publication, and consults with and shares expertise with Federal, State, and private agencies with maritime resources. She came to the NPS after nearly two decades with The Mariners’ Museum in Newport News, Virginia. There she served as Vice President of Museum Collections and Programs as well as Curator of the award-winning USS Monitor Center. She previously worked for the Chrysler Museum of Art in Norfolk, VA, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and as part of the interpretive ship’s crew for Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg, VA where she learned to hand, reef, and steer. This Winston-Salem native graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro with baccalaureate degrees in English Literature and Medieval Civilization.  She received her Masters degree in Tudor/Stuart History and her Ph.D. in American History from the College of William and Mary.  

    Maurice E. Bynum is the founder of P. D. & J. ENVIROCON, an environmental consulting firm. He currently serves in the position of Environmental Manager. Bynum received his B.S. in Environmental Science from Belford University in Texas. He possesses several professional licenses through the Commonwealth of Virginia. He currently holds a Class 1 Waterworks Operator’s License, Class 2 Wastewater Works Operator’s License, Alternative and Conventional On-site Operator’s License, Cross-connection and Backflow Prevention Device Inspector/Tester License, Erosion and Sediment Control/Storm-water Inspector License; and is preparing for his Nutrient Management and Soil Fertility Licenses. Bynum teaches environmental courses at various locations across the Hampton Roads area. Bynum also enjoys working inside the laboratories where he performs much of his research. He is currently performing research on methods of recycling and reclaiming polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) transformer mineral oil safely and efficiently. Bynum has been married to his wife (Terry) for 21 years. They have three children; Maurica, Maurice II, and Jazzmine. When Bynum is not working in the environmental field, you can catch him either at his local church (where he is an ordained Reverend and Senior Pastor) or in his studio playing and writing music. 

David, as vice president of the Virginia Maritime Association (VMA) , is responsible for day-to-day activities of the large non-profit trade association in Norfolk, Virginia. With VMA’s membership consisting of over 400 businesses directly or indirectly engaged in the maritime industry, he plays a key role in fulfilling VMA’s mission—to promote, protect, and encourage domestic and international trade through the busy ports of Virginia. David is responsible for the association’s membership activities, events, publications, and for increasing financial support of the association's activities. David is an industry advocate as it relates to legislative and regulatory issues; representing the association at the national, state, and local levels.
